Introduction

Miss Commonwealth uniquely uses eight pageants (right) represented by their respective reigning queens (shown above) to promote charity and cultural cohesion around the world. New pageant queens are chosen each year. Seven of the pageants are for Commonwealth citizens. Operating alongside them, the eighth pageant, the Queen Of Friends Of The Commonwealth, is for the rest of the world.

For 2012/2013, there are two very special additional queens, namely:-
- Miss Commonwealth Diamond Jubilee – To mark Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee
- Miss Commonwealth UK Olympiad – To mark the London 2012 Olympics.
